Loy Krathong Festival is one of the very famous festival in Thailand because of its long history and the beauty of the ceremony. Let me introduce it to you!
Loy Krathong Festival in Thailand this year will be on Wednesday 25 November 2015. It is a Thai traditional ceremony which we're going to float a 'krathong', a floating basket with flowers and candle to pay respect to the river goddess. It takes place on the evening of the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar.
So if you're here by then and still have no one to go 'loy krathong' with, why don't you join the festival with me and friends? It's for sure gonna be FUN!
After we meet in the evening around 6, we can go have dinner together first with local food near Tha Phrachan pier. After we're done, we can walk into Thammasat University where provided a pier for people to float the krathong.
Imagine the river full of small spots of lightened krathong spreading all over Chao Phraya River. It would be an amazing view even for me too :) After we're done, we can go and have a drink at Phra Athit Road or even continue to the famous Khao San Road as well
